Live calls will happen on Saturdays from 11:00am-12:30pm PT / 2:00pm-3:30pm ET, every week from September 26th to October 31st.

Week 1: Planning & Outlining

  • Sept. 26, 11:00am-12:30pm PT: Kick-off call, introductions, & discussion of general pedagogy (1.5 hours)
  • Sept. 27: Create reader profiles (1.5 hours)
  • Sept. 28-29: Draft a summative assessment (3 hours)
  • Sept. 30 - Oct. 1: Draft an outline (3 hours)
  • Oct. 2: Feedback & reflection (1 hour)

Week 2: Writing Chapter 1

  • Oct. 3, 11:00am-12:30pm PT: Check-in call & discussion of lesson design (1.5 hours)
  • Oct. 4-5: Create exercises / formative assessments for chapter 1 (3 hours)
  • Oct. 6-8: Write chapter 1 (5 hours)
  • Oct. 9: Feedback & reflection (1 hour)

Week 3: Writing Chapter 2

  • Oct. 10, 11:00am-12:30pm PT: Check-in call & discussion of assessment design (1.5 hours)
  • Oct. 11-12: Create exercises / formative assessments for chapter 2 (3 hours)
  • Oct. 13-15: Write chapter 2 (5 hours)
  • Oct. 16: Feedback & reflection (1 hour)

Week 4: Writing Chapter 3

  • Oct. 17, 11:00am-12:30pm PT: Check-in call & discussion of writing strategies (1.5 hours)
  • Oct. 18-19: Create exercises / formative assessments for chapter 3 (3 hours)
  • Oct. 20-22: Write chapter 3 (5 hours)
  • Oct. 23: Feedback & reflection (1 hour)

Week 5: Polishing

  • Oct. 24, 11:00am-12:30pm PT: Check-in call & discussion of editing & feedback strategies (1.5 hours)
  • Oct. 25: Give feedback to a peer in the course (2 hours)
  • Oct. 26-28: Editing & rewriting (5 hours)
  • Oct. 29-30: Create a glossary and additional reference material (2 hours)

Week 6

  • Oct. 31, 11:00am-12:30pm PT: Final call & retrospective (1.5 hours)
