Everyone dreams! Join us to cultivate a dream-journaling habit and dive deep into the details of our nocturnal narratives.
Everyone is a dreamer! Together we will cultivate a strong dream journaling habit in order to remember and enjoy all the details of our nightly adventures. We will also work on finding patterns and common experiences to better understand our dreams. Also, we will boldly go into the world of lucid dreaming, where we will learn how to stabilize, control, and transcend the dream-state.
This club runs for 4 weeks. Each session will be based on a stage of sleep: Hypnagogy, Dreaming Sleep, Deep Sleep, and Hypnapompy.
Each session is 1.5 hours long, and will include discussions, sharing of dream experiences, and small brain-sharpening activities.
At the beginning of our club we will start a group dream journal - sharing only what is comfortable, of course - and through our collaborative journal we will pick apart meaningful details and story patterns.
Throughout the course we will learn techniques for achieving lucidity such as reality-checking and backmapping. Members who achieve lucidity in the dream will be awarded a gold star and all the appropriately rewarding neurotransmitters.
If you have dreams that are bizarre, or mundane, or baffling, or perfectly respectable, do please join us and share your nocturnal narrative! Everyone is welcome and everyone's dreams are worth talking about.
The facilitator for this club is Jake Fee, who enjoys self-experimentation with dreaming and lucidity.
Neil Gaiman's magnificent masterpiece of dreamspace comics The Sandman is available to read online for free.
If you have access to some streaming service or another, Waking Life is an excellent movie to watch if you're comfortable bending your reality into odd shapes.
A habit of nightly hallucinations and a willingness to explore the dreamspace is all you need to join us!
